Richard Kooris has owned and successfully developed property in Austin, Texas since 1976, a time when few other developers had foreseen the potential of this area. Pegalo Properties Inc. is our property management and development firm, and the 501 Studios project was our first major development project. It began as four empty warehouse buildings and has been restored into one of the premier specialized small tenant commercial office and studio developments in the downtown Austin area. The 501 Studios complex is home to ninety individual company tenants, primarily concentrated in film, video, audio and digital design and includes a well-known entertainment venue and a locally famous coffee shop. Pegalo functioned as developer, designer, and general contractor on the entire project.
Since developing 501 Studios, Pegalo has successfully completed several other significant commercial and residential real estate development projects, including the acquisition of sites, design, construction, and sale of 41 speculative residential urban infill dwellings, primarily in East and South Austin.
